This accommodation is the ideal base for your stay. Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland, with everything a capital should have – a sense of history, superb architecture, great museums and a vibrant cultural life. Its townscape rates among the finest in Europe, with the streets and squares punctuated by spires and dotted with leafy greenspaces.
Its compact middle is ringed with village-like suburbs that retain their sense of identity, while the proximity of the hills and sea adds to the city’s beauty. With its face set confidently to the future, Edinburgh is experiencing a new sense of purpose and pride, making this a perfect time for you to enjoy its pleasures.

Whether you are coming to seek out ancestral roots, experience the Edinburgh Festival or just to get a taste of what makes Scotland tick, you will be touched by the sheer majesty of the city, the richness of its history and beauty of the culture. Edinburgh effortlessly combines its past with all that’s best of 21st century life making it a popular destination you are bound to enjoy.
Built for purpose, she is not your average houseboat. There are no horse brasses or wood burning stove but modern high tech spacious self- catering luxury accommodation which has has been awarded by VisitScotland a 4 star luxury classification and grading.
Living on board any vessel is unlike being land bound in a flat/apartment. Onboard this novel short stay accommodation there is a sense of peace and tranquillity where you feel no more than a very gentle sway underfoot periodically.  The interior living space is surprisingly spacious. The central heating is more than adequate so passengers should never feel chilled even in the coldest of winters but secondary electric heating is available throughout the boatel.  Any level of catering can be accomplished in the superbly equipped black gloss galley kitchen. The two beautifully dressed double cabins are the ultimate in comfort. Please bear in mind, floor space is tight within the cabin areas so the advice would be to travel light and avoid hard case luggage for storing purposes. There is no floor space within the cabins for a child’s cot but a bunk bed safety rail is available for the lower bunk bed located in the stern of the boatel adjacent to the cabins and a portable baby monitor available onboard.
All waste water drains directly into the canal hence the need to use the eco-friendly products supplied. Toilet waste is contained on board and is disposed of weekly by the crew. Nothing other than human waste may be disposed of down the WC. Paper must be put into the bin provided. The shower is 24 inches square and hot water is supplied by means of a water heater which takes just a few minutes to reach the temperature required.
British Waterways has now completed superb new shower block facilities on site where there are three very large private wet rooms with changing facilities free of charge. There are also coin operated laundry facilities for your use. You will be issued with a key to access these facilities on your arrival.
We take your safety and security very seriously aboard and should point out that there are three steep steps on boarding and are considered unsuitable for the disabled. There are two fire extinguishers and a fire blanket. There are two small children’s buoyancy vests that should be worn on deck at all times. Children must be under adult supervision while on board.  We have a security gate at the pontoon allowing access to British Waterways key holders only and 24 hour manned CC TV coverage.
We will be extending our crew in the near future allowing our passengers to book a day or half day cruise along the Union Canalwith two qualified Skippers. Please enquire regarding charges
